Wedding dresses – the latest trend from the USA

31 Mar

A wedding planner on Twitter today got all excited about a wedding dress she saw somewhere, which inspired us to write this blog post!  We do see a lot of dresses in our job – all brides look beautiful, but some wedding dresses are just breathtakingly stunning.

On the internet we came across a US website featuring the latest trend for wedding dresses: The focus is all on the back of the dress, and don’t they look stunning.

I wonder when I’ll see the first bride wearing one of these.

Happily ever after starts here….

Yesterday I spent some time just browsing the internet. When I googled “Wedding Themes” I stumbled about some lifestyle features in the Washington Post with some lovely photos. Among them was this gorgeous vintage sign, photographed by Jim Russell http://www.jimrussellphotography.com/index.html , who is a well established photographer in Southern California.  I suppose my chances to work with him at a wedding are pretty remote, but you never know!

I don’t know where he took the photo of the sign, nor who made or sold it. But thanks to Twitter I have been pointed in the direction of Barn Studio Signs who make hand-painted, bespoke, vintage style wooden signs from reclaimed wood in their 250 year old barn in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.  Please have a look at their website to see what they do.

See you at the fair…

10 Mar

This weekend is going to be really busy – just the way we like it!

Saturday I’m going to meet one of my beautiful brides who is coming all the way from South Wales to West Somerset for her trial make-up run.  Her mother and sister will also be there to try out make-up and find out what will suit them best.  The three of them will come to my house in the morning, and I think we’re going to have lots of fun!

Sunday it’s time for the very first wedding fair at St Audries Bay Holiday Park.  This park overlooks the Bristol Channel and is not far from the popular wedding venue St Audries Park in West Quantoxhead.  Fairs are always exciting and good fun. Let’s hope lots of people turn up.  We will also be doing the make-up for the models showing the latest bridal dresses on the catwalk. We will be busy!

What are you doing at the weekend? See you at the fair?
